You will learn how to describe what you want, guide the AI through safe iterations, and understand enough basics to review and improve the result. By the end, you will be able to create simple tools that solve real work problems and keep them maintainable.

Requirements:

  • A laptop with Claude Code access set up before the course
  • A code editor installed such as VS Code

  • Setting up a project folder, README, and simple structure

Module 2: Coding basics you need to steer the AI

  • Reading code at a high level naming, structure, and comments
  • Keeping a change log and saving working versions
  • Simple checklists for quality and correctness

  • Reproducing issues and describing bugs clearly
  • Using logs and small test cases to pinpoint problems
  • Fixing one thing at a time and verifying behaviour
  • Handling edge cases and unexpected inputs

  • Turning a script into a repeatable workflow
