Kubernetes Intermediate: Scaling, Policy, and Operability

Kubernetes Intermediate: Scaling, Policy, and Operability

A focused follow on course for teams who completed Kubernetes fundamentals and want to run applications with stronger reliability and guardrails. Participants deepen scheduling, networking, storage, and day two operations. The agenda favors clear patterns that fit real world clusters without unnecessary complexity.

What will you learn?

You will tune workloads for predictable performance, control traffic and access with modern primitives, and manage persistent state safely. You will add observability and policy to catch issues early and standardize delivery across environments. By the end, you can scale confidently, change safely, and troubleshoot faster.

  • Calibrate requests and limits, autoscaling, and rollout controls for stability
  • Apply NetworkPolicies and modern ingress or gateway patterns for safe traffic
  • Operate StatefulSets and storage classes with backup, resize, and migration basics
  • Strengthen operations with dashboards, alerts, admission controls, and a proven debug workflow

Requirements:

  • Comfortable with Pods, Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, and basic storage
  • kubectl access to a sandbox or learning cluster
  • Familiarity with YAML and a text editor

Course Outline*:

*We know each team has their own needs and specifications. That is why we can modify the training outline per need.
