A beginner friendly course that shows how to use Copilot inside Microsoft 365 to save time, communicate clearly, and move work forward. Participants learn where Copilot appears in desktop and web apps and how to prompt it safely for everyday tasks.
You will understand Copilot’s capabilities and limits, where to find it across Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams, and how to apply simple prompting patterns that improve personal and team productivity.
After this training you will be confident in:

• Using Copilot inside installed Office apps and Microsoft 365 web apps
• Drafting, summarizing, and refining emails, documents, slides, and messages
• Turning meetings and chats into clear action items and next steps
• Applying basic privacy and data handling practices while using Copilot
• Microsoft 365 account with Copilot enabled
• Access to Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams on desktop and web
• A few non sensitive sample files and emails for practice

• Where Copilot lives in desktop and web apps
• Prompting basics for clarity, tone, and length
• Understanding data boundaries, permissions, and safe sharing
• Personal settings, suggested prompts, and quick wins
Module 2: Communication and scheduling with Outlook and Teams
• Drafting and refining emails from bullet points or long threads
• Summarizing inbox conversations and preparing quick replies
• Meeting prep, meeting recap, action items, and follow ups in Teams
• Turning chats and channel posts into tasks or notes
Module 3: Writing and presenting with Word and PowerPoint
• Creating first drafts, outlines, and executive summaries in Word
• Rewriting for tone, shortening or expanding sections, and adding citation placeholders
• Building slide outlines, talking points, and speaker notes in PowerPoint
• Converting a document into a short, on brand slide deck
Module 4: Working with data in Excel and cross app workflows
• Explaining formulas, highlighting trends, and proposing simple visuals in Excel
• Cleaning and reshaping small tables, then generating a short narrative insight
• Moving from email to brief to deck to Teams update with consistent messaging
• Daily productivity checklist to keep Copilot helpful without overuse
